CHIC [sheek]
Adjective - chicer, chicest
1. attractive and fashionable, stylish
noun
2. style and elegance, especially in dress
Chicer Collegiate was founded by Anthony L. Moultry II, a proud Morehouse College graduate, Class of 1997. Inspired by the elegance and refinement captured in his family’s HBCU yearbooks from the 1950s and 1960s, Moultry sought to reintroduce that timeless aesthetic for today’s generation.
In those pages, male students appeared daily in slacks, button-down shirts, and ties, while female students carried themselves in long skirts, scarves, and heels. That era of subtle sophistication defines the Chicer Collegiate aesthetic—a style rooted in heritage, pride, and refinement.
Morehouse College granted the brand its very first collegiate apparel license, followed by Clark Atlanta University and Spelman College. From those beginnings, Chicer Collegiate has steadily grown, building a reputation for sophisticated apparel and unique accessories designed to celebrate HBCUs and other esteemed institutions. Our vision extends beyond HBCUs, with the goal of one day including your school or alma mater—so that you too can represent your chic with pride.
